Ae Fond Kiss for Burns' Nicht

I've had my Haggis, Neeps and Tatties for tea, I'll be having a wee dram later, and I thought I'd do a belated post to celebrate this, the 253rd anniversary of the birth of Scotland's bard, Rabbie Burns.

Here's the fabulous Eddi Reader (who can also be found on my blog here) with a divine version of Ae Fond Kiss. Enjoy:

An A-Z of My CDs: R

After Finlay Quaye last week - which was, I grant you, a bit leftfield - I'm returning to more familiar territory this week with "R".

First though, a word about who it's not. It's not Razorlight, although I had been thinking that it would be when I commented on last week's post. It's also not the superb Eddi Reader who has featured on these pages before. It's not Diana Ross, who once reigned Supreme (did you see what I did there?). Finally it's not Runrig.

No, worthy as all of those acts would have been, I couldn't see beyond R.E.M. I present Nightswimming for your enjoyment:

Blast from the Past (2)

Last night, I was watching Big Brother and the housemates gave an impromptu rendition of Perfect by Fairground Attraction. It is, of course a fantastic song - although perhaps a bit dated now - but I always prefered Find My Love:

And here's Eddi Reader as a solo artist with Patience of Angels. There were a number of candidates for inclusion here - you could do worse than search for Eddi's work on the video/music site of your choice. Enjoy:

P.S. You can find the video for Perfect here.
