Sunday Sounds 30 - Happy New Year

To celebrate this New Year edition of Sunday Sounds, here's the artist who had both the biggest selling album and single of 2011 -Adele - with the fantastic "Turning Tables". I completely love this song - the tone it strikes, the lyrics, the arrangement - enjoy:

It's no secret that I'm really liking Adele just now - in contrast to a number of other female artists in the charts she has a very real talent for singing and songwriting and the prospect of a long career ahead of her.

Today's song has been running around my head this week - mainly thanks to my second cousin who was going to be singing it at my sister's wedding reception (the eventual choice was Someone Like You.)

If you like that, you'll like this...

Of course, when someone says that, it's not always a given that you will like the recommendation - I love The Lord of the Rings but not a reader of other Fantasy novels although that's maybe because I started at the summit...

That said, though, a recommendation based on genre is as good a place as any to start and can open up the doors to new experiences and further exploration. This is the aim of Music Map (which I found using Stumble Upon).

Although some of the links may be questionable, it produces interesting suggestions and displays them graphically which is slightly more interesting than a list of related artists in, say, Spotify.
