Postcards from Edinburgh

Last week, I was home in Scotland for Christmas and, as is my custom, I took a number of photographs. I'm going to publish some of these over the next few days both here and at the widow's window. I'm starting with some pics of Edinburgh but there are some of Fife and Glasgow's new Riverside Museum to come.

5 on the 5th - June

For this month's 5 on the 5th, the theme is "new"... and I must confess that I have not gone (or even attempted to go) with the theme. (I don't think the fact that all the pictures are new will cut the mustard.)

I've chosen instead a series of pictures of Edinburgh Castle - taken from a variety of viewpoints and times. As ever, follow the link to Stephen's blog to see more 5/5th submissions!

P.S. Had a number of candidates for entry today, so expect more Edinburgh and Fife photos soon!

Pretty Pictures, Scottish Edition

As well as being offline while I replaced the power cable for my lap-top, I was also in Scotland for a long weekend. During my stay I took some photos of which the following is a selection:

Statue of the late Donald Dewar

Glasgow Angel (actual title unknown)

BBC Scotland Headquarters... as it says on the tin.

Edinburgh Castle, National Gallery and Princes Street Gardens East

Belford Bridge over the Water of Leith, Edinburgh
Hope you enjoyed!

P.S. Another Edinburgh related post tomorrow!
