K25 Part 11 - Slow

It doesn't seem like a month since I last shared a Kylie 25 video - mainly because it was just last week! Anyway, hot on the heels of that one, here is the lady herself with a recording of Slow, as featured on the The Abbey Road Sessions album.

As an added treat, the original video is featured below too - I think it's fair to say that Ms Minogue understands who her target market is...

K25 Part 10 - Come Into My World

Here - and only 26 days late - is October's K25 treat: a video of Kylie rehearsing Come Into My World for her Proms in the Park appearance.

The fourth Top 10 release from Fever, it was co-penned by Cathy Dennis, who also has credits for Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head, Britney Spears' Toxic and Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl.

This version of the song features on her new album, the sublime The Abbey Road Sessions which was released at the end of last month.

K25 Part 9 - Flower

I've been away (of which more later) and so I missed the chance to post this on Tuesday: Kylie's new single, from her upcoming Abbey Road Sessions album.

Those of you who have followed this series of posts will recall that the first two - here and here - already featured two songs from those from the sessions; the album looks set to be a cracker!

The single has been released as the latest treat in the K25 celebrations. It's a beautiful ballad which was originally considered for her 10th studio album, X. It wasn't included but was part of the set on the accompanying tour.

This new version has a sumptuous orchestral backing, and a floaty, dreamy video. It's simply wonderful!

Enjoy!

K25 Part 8 - Tightrope

The tardiness of my posting is getting worse and worse... not only was my Saturday Six two days late but I very nearly forgot the latest offering from Kylie as part of her K25 monthly treats.

I say offering, but this month there were two... The first is advertised at the start of the video - a special Kylie edition of an iPhone app - Beat the Intro. It's duly been added and - whilst perhaps not as much fun as SongPop - it has kept me somewhat amused.

The second treat follows on and is a version of Tightrope (a B-Side for In Your Eyes) from one of the Melbourne "Anti-Tour" shows.

Enjoy!

K25 Part 7 - The Locomotion

Everybody's doing a brand new dance now... So sang Little Eva in 1962 when my Mum was a child, and again in '72 when my Mum was planning her wedding.

To people of my generation, though, The Locomotion only means one thing: Kylie. As part of the Kylie 25 celebrations, here's a video of Kylie singing it through the years. I think it's fair to say that not all the renditions feature the best vocals but they prove that Kylie has never been afraid to sing live - or to try something different:

Enjoy!

K25 Part 6 - Sydney Mardi Gras

And here, in short order, is the second of the two posts I promised you in my last post.

I've never really got "Pride" - I lose lots of points off my PinkCard for that. Personally, I'd rather get on with my life rather than shout about my Sexuality. And whilst I appreciate that there are still issues of Equality to fight for, I'm really not sure Pride Marches are the best way to go about this - although I will concede this may not have always been the case and may not be the case elsewhere.

I also have problems with the concept of Pride in something you can't change - I can no more choose to be gay than I can being White. And I wouldn't go on a White Pride march either.

Anyway, that's all beside the point, because this lady could probably get me to go to Pride, not withstanding all I've said above! Here is Kylie with a 20 minute set which is a whistlestop medley tour of her Greatest Hits and some fan favourites!

Enjoy!

K25 Part 5 - Timebomb

It's the 25th of the month which means it's time for the latest treat from Ms Minogue as she continues to celebrate her 25th anniversary as a chart-topping megastar.

This month it's a brand new single! So, without any further ado, here it is, this is Timebomb:

K25 Part 4 - Cherry Bomb

It's the end of the month, which can only mean one thing - it's time for another treat from Kylie as she celebrates 25 years in pop. This time out it's a video from the Anti-Tour of B-Sides, Demos and Rarities and is of her singing Cherry Bomb - a B-Side from the single releases of "Wow" and "In My Arms".

Here she is:

K25 Part 3 - I Don't Need Anyone

The latest of the K25 treats has been unveiled (you can see the previous ones here). Rather than being from the acoustic set at Abbey Roads, this time we get to see a happy and relaxed Kylie rehearsing for one of her Anti-tour shows in Melbourne (and, in a few days, the UK).

The opposite of the big budget Arena tours, these are small shows featuring less well known songs;- b-sides, demos and rarities. Designed to have an intimate and noncommercial feel, the gigs sound like absolutely amazing nights.

Here is the lady herself singing "I Don't Need Anyone", which was on the Impossible Princess album (released as "Kylie Minogue" in the aftermath of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales):

K25 Part 2 - On A Night Like This

Last month I posted this blog about my relationship with Kylie over the years and featuring her first treat for fans - a superb rendition of Finer Feelings.

Yesterday, the second recording from Abbey Road studios was released - an orchestrated, slowed down version of On a Night Like This, which was the follow up single to the smash hit which was Spinning Around.

Enjoy!:
