Sunday Sounds 55

It's Sunday - time to kick back, relax, chill and just enjoy the day (although it looks like I'll be out campaigning later...). Why not take 10 minutes to add listening to Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture - one of the most sublime pieces of music ever composed.

  1. It really is a glorious piece. There isn't a single note that feels 'wrong', and he really captures the atmosphere of the scene he's depicting in this little aural-essay.
Another piece by the same composer that is perfection itself is his overture to 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' - which he wrote when he was just 17! (The jammy little show-off!)
