Last week I mentioned how this series gives me a chance to showcase tracks I might otherwise have forgotten about... Of course, that's not the whole story; sometimes, there's a standout track, an all time classic that it would be a sin to overlook. This week is one such week.

This is one of those magnificent, evergreen, pop standards which, for me, has always been evocative of the 1950s. So it came as a bit of a surprise when, consulting my 'Collins Complete British Hit Singles 1952-2004', to find that it was first a hit in the UK as 'late' as 1961, and only a minor one at that (#27), though of course a much bigger one after being resurrected on the back of the film of the same name in the 80s. But still, it's a record one never tires of hearing.
