Remembrance Sunday

It's Remembrance Sunday today, and the annual ceremony of laying wreaths at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier has taken place in London.

I wanted to post this video of the 2-minute silence, puncutated by the chimes of Big Ben, followed by a rendition of The Last Post, but it's only available on the BBC website, so please follow the link.

  1. I strongly believe that all radio and TV channels and public buildings should take part in the 2 minutes silence.

Following a conversation with my 13 year old nephew yesterday, I was shocked at how little the school teach them about national values, even down to not knowing the words to the national anthem!!!

  2. That's easy... it starts with "Oh Flower of Scotland..." ;-p

Seriously, though, I think there should be some form of citezenship education in Schools.
